a walk from North Hill
North Hill footbridges
For this walk allow two hours, or longer if you extend the walk onto Bodmin Moor.
Park in North Hill village hall car park.
Features
Delightful views of the Lynher Valley and crossing the river on two footbridges, close to the medieval Berrio Bridge.
Directions
From the car park turn left passing the church gates, then fork right down the hill to the footpath on the right. Follow this down into the wooded valley to the River Lynher. Here in March 2010 there will be a new footbridge (the old wobbly one was dismantled in March 2009), so crossing the bridge you will continue the walk up through some fields - steep! - and will join a quiet lane.
Here, if you wish to extend your walk you can continue up the road to walk on the open moors, Kilmar Tor, Trewortha Tor and Hawk's Tor.

Turn left, down the hill, will bring you to Berrio Bridge, the medieval bridge over the Lynher.
However to return to North Hill retrace your steps to the lane, now on your right down to the granite footbridge at Berrio Mill, then up to cross the next road and to the footpath that will take you through Battens Farm back at North Hill village. Turn left on the road past the Racehorse Inn - ideal for a lunch stop - and back to the car park.
